Bonn/Beijing, 3 October 2025 – With two months to go until the start of WWEC2025, the WWEA and the CWEA have published an outline of the conference programme (download). In line with the conference theme of 'Empowering the Future with Wind Energy: Innovation, Collaboration, and Sustainable Growth', the focus of WWEC2025 will be on advancing wind power globally through enhanced international collaboration. Accordingly, the conference will provide an overview of the topics that are currently important for the growth of the global wind power sector.

The first day will start with a forum on global wind power market developments and trends, with countries such as Australia, Brazil, Egypt, Germany, Greece, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Morocco, Romania, Turkey and Vietnam being presented by experts from those countries.

The high-level segment on 4 December will officially open the event, with leaders from around the world in attendance. This will be followed by the Shantou Dialogue, a new format in which industry executives from various countries will discuss ways to strengthen international supply chains and trade based on fair and transparent frameworks.

On 5 December, the WWEA will launch the WWEA Community Engagement Guidelines, which will provide a basis for investors to develop and operate wind farms in collaboration with local communities. These guidelines have been drafted by the WWEA Community Engagement Council, which comprises practitioners from various continents.

Eighteen sessions will present the latest technological developments, including the use of artificial intelligence, wind turbine components, advanced wind resource assessment, offshore wind topics and small wind technologies. One session will present the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative, including the China-Pakistan Wind Power Collaboration Forum. Another session will discuss archiving the history of global wind power.

The conference will conclude with a technical site visit to wind power facilities in the city of Shantou.
