World Renewable Energy Community presents Global Renewable Energy Solutions Showcase on the occasion of COP23 in Bonn (7-8 November 2017)

Bonn, 4 May 2017 – Leading global, European and German Renewable Energy Associations invite the global climate community to attend the first ever Global Renewable Energy Solutions Showcase event (GRESS), held on 7 and 8 November in Bonn, in the direct vicinity and in parallel with the UN Climate Change Conference COP23.
The event has been endorsed by the global, European and German renewable energy associations, amongst them the REN Alliance and its member associations, the European Renewable Energies Federation EREF, the German Renewable Energy Federation BEE and the Global 100%RE Platform. It will be organized by the World Wind Energy Association which is headquartered in Bonn.
At the COP23, more than 30’000 climate change experts are expected to come to Bonn in order to discuss the next steps of the implementation of the Paris Agreement. Decision-makers from around 200 national governments, from businesses and civil society, from local governments and academia, will meet in order to find concrete ways for effective climate change mitigation. Without doubt, renewable energy are now in the center stage of these discussions.
Hence the World Renewable Energy Community invites all COP23 delegates to participate in the Global Renewable Energy Solutions Showcase GRESS in order to demonstrate that a renewable energy world can be achieved and that basically all technology solutions are already available today.
GRESS will focus on solutions based on 100% renewable energy, and on decentralized approaches which are key for a renewable energy future. Practitioners from companies are invited to present the latest solutions and advancements in renewable energy technologies, subdivided in six topics:
- Power Solutions I: Renewable Energy Grid
- Heating & Cooling Solutions
- Industrial Solutions
- Power Solutions II: Renewable Energy Off-grid
- Transportation Solutions
- Urban Solutions
All renewable energy companies and organizations are invited to join GRESS and to present their approaches and solutions to the COP23 delegates.
